Toronto Wedding at The Thompson Hotel & Gio Rana’s Restaurant

This Toronto Wedding at The Thompson Hotel & Gio Rana’s Restaurant blew my mind and filled my heart with so much happiness. I had the greatest time documenting Amy and Tom’s day. They wanted a winter wedding and did mother nature ever deliver – in the form of a blizzard! It was awesome. They both got ready with only their families and closest friends, which was so nice. They really stayed true to who they were for the whole wedding, which is kind, funny and easy going. I loved how they used the natural architecture of their venues as decoration and didn’t go too crazy on anything else. The Thompson Hotel Rooftop is a great wedding venue in Toronto because it’s full of so much natural light. It was a photographer’s dream for sure with views of the Toronto Skyline and The CN Tower. We went to the Distillery District for photos, ended up getting freezing cold and heading into Balzac’s for a coffee and a lengthy chat. Gio Rana’s restaurant was so interesting with tons of beautiful decor as well as string lights galore. It was a great place for an intimate and unique wedding reception. It was the perfect day. It didn’t hurt that the bride and groom were killing it in the style department. Those Truvelle gowns are too stunning. I love shooting small, restaurant style weddings like this. I love how intimate they are and how I get to know all the friends and family who attend. It feels like I am one of the guests when I get to know most of the people there, which makes it hard for me to ever leave, especially once the dance floor starts up and the DJ is playing some sweet beats. I can’t help but want to dance the night away with all of the bride and groom’s friends and family. Pretty much: this wedding rocked and I friggin love my job.
