A crew of us went on a Mexico surf trip and it was freaking awesome. My brother-in-law Brady has a super awesome fiancé Rachel and they’re getting married in July so we threw their bachelor/bachelorette party down south. We had perfect weather, great friends and maybe a bit too much fun.
We were lucky enough to have the hospitality of our good friends Holly and Pablo who run surf and SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) schools in Mexico and back here in Canada. Pablo is the surf instructor at Cerritos Beach in El Pescadero and is a 3x Mexican Longboard Champion, 2015 Tofino RipCurl Pro Longboard Champ and BluWave SUP Team Rider. Yeah, we are impressed too. On top of that both him and Holly teach SUP and it’s so fun in both Mexico and Canada. Holly is also a professional mermaid #lifegoals and we put the tails on for our girl’s day and had a blast. I may have had the most fun. Being a mermaid!? Are you kidding? It’s amazing. You can check out their Mexico packages here and their Canada packages here. We stayed at Villas de Cerritos Beach. It was an incredibly lovely place. The people were great, the food at the restaurant on site was amazing and the pool was beautiful.
While we were there we explored Todos Santos, a nearby town, lounged in the sun oceanside and poolside, watched the sunset at the beach almost every night, had beach bonfires, there was lots of surfing, drinking and eating, some went out with Pablo on a little boat and caught huge fish, some people went whale shark swimming and some of us were lucky enough to have bad weather on our flights home, which resulted in 40 hours of travel. It was an adventure and a half.
It was one of the best trips we could have asked for. If you wanted to relax, it was probably the most relaxing place ever but on the other hand it had so many opportunities for lots of action. We couldn’t have had such a great trip without Holly and Pablo and we can’t thank them enough. So if you need to get away, check out the websites above and get in touch with them because they know how to have a good time.
The photos are beautiful! My brothers and I are planning a surf trip there in October, hope we have the same luck.
I hope you do too!
